What we do
Evidence-based thermal protection.
We develop validated ways to protect the human body from extreme heat — grounded in science, designed around people, and built on a foundation we protect.
The human problem
Extreme heat is a growing threat to the people least protected from it.
As the climate warms, heat is becoming one of the most serious and fastest-growing risks to human health. Those most exposed — pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah in extreme conditions, and people who live and work outdoors in hot climates — often have the fewest tools designed to protect them.
There is no shortage of science on how the body responds to heat. What is missing is the bridge between that knowledge and real, usable protection. Building that bridge is our work.
Our focus
One protected core. Many possible innovations.
Our current strategic focus is evidence-based thermal protection. A shared foundation of validated science and protected knowledge can support a range of innovations — so WARIF HUB is built to grow beyond any single product or market over time.
Human-centred wearables
Solutions designed around the person exposed to heat.
Heat-load reduction
Approaches that reduce the thermal burden on the body.
Advanced materials
Material and textile science applied to thermal performance.
Field validation
Real-world evaluation that proves effect before use.
Where it applies
Beginning with the most exposed — designed to reach further.
Our first focus is those in greatest need, but the science of thermal protection has far broader relevance.
Pilgrims
Protecting those performing Hajj and Umrah in extreme heat.
Outdoor workers
Reducing heat risk for people who work in hot conditions.
Communities
Supporting people living in increasingly hot climates.
Beyond
A platform intended to extend to new thermal-protection challenges.
